Defendant Accused of Touching Child Could Get Two Year Deferred Adjudication

SAN ANGELO, TX -- A child predator may get the opportunity to get 2-years adjudication if Judge allows next month.

In December 20 2014, Rolando San Augustin, 32, allegedly touched a girls genitals who was under the age of 17.

Five years later the Tom Green County Sheriffs Office arrested San Augustin and charged him with indecency with a child by sexual contact.

On June 11, San Augustin went to his first pre-trial in the 119th district court led by Judge Woodward. In the pre-trail the prosecutor Brent Ratekin, Augustin, and his Defense attorney Shawntell McKillop agreed on a 2-year pre-trail diversion and a $500 fine.

The court will meet back again on July 8 for the judge to approve this punishment.

How many times did he not get caught? When does this guy get to go away for a long time? I'm sorry, I'm just speechless!

How can a guy that admits to downloading child porn get 10 yrs in federal prison, and then a guy who actually made physical contact with a child get 2 yrs adjudication?? You would think the punishment is reversed in these 2 instances. This judicial system is so inconsistent.
