Traffic Stop Leads Police to Arrest Wanted Child Predator

ABILENE, TX -- A man wanted for child sex crimes was arrested yesterday after a traffic stop.

On June 10, an Abilene Police Officer was patrolling on the 2300 block of Treadaway when the officer pulled over the car of 20-year-old Angel Manuel Gamboa.

While running his driver's license the officer learned that Gamboa was wanted for aggravated assault of a child.

According to the KTXS, a child under the age of 14 told police in August that Gamboa sexually assaulted him in January 2017.

Police said Gamboa talked to the victim about sex, but denied the alleged crime.

Gamboa is charged with aggravated assault of a child and he is currently in the Taylor County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
