Abilene Hires New Zoo Director

 

ABILENE, TX -- The City of Abilene has hired a new director on Tuesday. 

The zoo has been searching for a new director since November after the old director retired after allegation of him harassing employees. 

The new director is coming here from the Austin Zoo. Jesse Pottebaum was the deputy directory in Austin and also has experience at SeaWorld in Florida as well as San Antonio. 

Pottebaum graduated from Loras College in Iowa with a Bachelor in Biological Research. According to KTXS, he has more than 20 years of experience in the Zoological field. 

He will start his position on May 28.
