Registerd Sex Offender Arrested After Sending Lewd Pictures to 12-Year-Old on Social Media

 

ABILENE, TX – A man who is a registered sex offender was arrested on Monday after agents find hidden social media accounts that the man used to send lewd pictures to children with.

On April 30, Jaime Cruz, 23, was arrested for for possession with intent to promote child pornography, indecency with a child by contact, and online solicitation of a minor under the age of 14.

Cruz was originally registered in Eastland County during November 2018 but then moved to Taylor County. Special agents began investigating Cruz in January 2019 and inquired Cruz's cell phone.

The phone had several social media accounts including two instagram accounts, one Snapchat account, one Tik Tok account, and one Facebook account. Due to him being a registered sex offender Cruz was supposed to register all of his social media accounts.

According to KTXS, the agent reported finding two separate messages to girls under the age of 18, one being twelve years old. Cruz had sent sexual pictures to the twelve-year-old.

Cruz is currently in the Taylor County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
