SAN ANGELO, TX — Police said the department’s Street Crimes Division and SWAT Team executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2600 block of Freeland Avenue.
The warrant, issued by District Judge Ben Woodward, named 37-year-old Donald Short to be in possession of methamphetamine at the residence.
Short was located inside the residence and detained during the search. That is when investigators located and seized a small quantity of methamphetamine, altered firearms, and drug paraphernalia.
Short was arrested for possession of controlled substance penalty group 1. Additional charges are pending the outcome of this ongoing investigation. The possession charge is a State Jail Felony.
Police did not release the date and time of the raid, but Short was booked into the Tom Green County Jail for possession of less than 1 gram of meth at 2:28 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, April 10. No bond amount is listed.
A 37-year-old Donald Short was previously given deferred adjudication and a placed on probation for two years following an arrest for possession of between 2 and 4 grams of crystal methamphetamine in 2007.
The Department’s Patrol Division, K-9 Unit, and the Center for Tactical Medicine assisted with today’s operation.
