Homicide Investigation Begins as Inmate Found Dead Inside Cell

ABILENE, TX – A homicide investigation begins as man was found dead in his prison cell on Saturday.

Quinton Maxwell Thompson, 35, was found dead in his prison cell at the French Robertson Unit. Thompson was in the Texas Department Criminal Justice system for the remainder of his life due to an aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

His cell mate, George Badillo, Jr., 32, was restrained and removed from the cell after prison guards found Thompson unresponsive. According to KTXS, Badillo was serving eight years for evading arrest and theft in Tarrant County.

The prison is on lockdown which is standard procedure in these kinds of cases, and the Inspector General has been called in to investigate the death.
