Abilene Police Say Man Vomited Drug Bag he Swallowed During Traffic Stop

 

ABILENE, TX -- An Abilene man was arrested after police say he swallowed a bag of meth, then regurgitated it during a traffic stop.

Francis Leo Stadler Jr., 55, was stopped by Abilene police for a traffic violation at N. 10th St. and Almond St. around 7:20 p.m. on Saturday, KTXS reports.

He then proceeded to run to the side of a bridge and spit up a bag of meth before he could be searched police said. Shala Danielle Gonzilas, 29, of Merkel, threw a torn bag of meth out the window during the stop as well.

Gonzilas told police Stadler took a long time to pull over because he was busy swallowing the bag of meth. She also told police that Stadler threw a glass meth pipe out the window before he pulled over.

Stadler was charged with tampering with evidence, possession of a dangerous drug and possession of meth and also had a felony warrant for his arrest. His bond was set at $47,500

Gonzilas, who's bond was set at $9,000 was also charged with tampering with evidence, possession of a dangerous drug and possession of meth.
