Goodfellow AFB Gates Re-Open After Detaining Possible Active Shooter

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Goodfellow Air Force Base reopened it's gates after detaining a possible active shooter on Monday morning. 

The north and south gates are reopening after a being closed for a short time. A "Real World Active Shooter Alert" has been sent out saying the immediate threat is over. The 17th Training Wing has authorized limited release. 

According to Purple Heart Commander Ernesto Hernandez, an incident did occur this morning but the person(s) has been detained. 

No casualties have been reported at this time. 

San Angelo ISD placed Belaier and Glenmore Elementary schools on lockdown. Students were participating in an activity on base and were said to be safe with military and school district personnel.
