Two Men Arrested After SWAT Team Finds Weed and Meth

BROWNWOOD, TX – Two Brownwood men were arrested after search warrants by the Brownwood Police Department lead to 100 grams of marijuana and methamphetamine.

On March 28 at around 7:00 a.m. the SWAT team with the BPD served a drug search warrant at the apartment of 55-year-old James Tawater. Officers found two small bags of meth and what police say was a "dope kit" containing  items that are used for distribution.

Tawater was placed in the Brown County Jail for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver in a drug free zone.

Police also found enough evidence there that they were able to get another drug search warrant at the residence of 57-year-old Scott Bernard.

The SWAT team raided the home on Friday morning and found an undisclosed amount of meth and narcotic distribution items.

According to the Brownwood Bulletin, the officers also found 100 grams of marijuana inside the house.

Bernard was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of a prohibited weapon.
