Suspect Arrested After Trying to Kill Roomate with a Machete

 

ABILENE, TX – An Abilene man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly chasing and threatening to kill his roommate with a machete.

At around 7 a.m. the Abilene Police Department responded to a call about a possible problem at an apartment complex. When the police arrived they found Raymond Oshay McGaffeny, 55, with a machete.

McGaffeny's roommate told police that McGaffeny had been chasing him around the apartment with a machete and telling him that he was going to kill him. According to KTXS, the roommate was not injured, but did fear for his life.

McGaffeny was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently in the Taylor County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
