San Angelo Suspect Indicted for Sexual Coercion

SAN ANGELO, TX – A San Angelo man was indicted on March 7 after allegedly attempting to scam women into letting him take nude pictures of them and then blackmailing them with the photos.

According to court documents. on Sept. 7, 2018 police met with a woman claiming that she was being blackmailed. Police said she told them that she had seen an ad on Facebook Swap and Sell named "Joe's Custom Cakes." She got in touch with the person who was running the company via Facebook Messenger.

While discussing a few things that the company offered, the woman was told of a belly cast mold for pregnant women. She then met under what she thought was another person, with a separate Facebook account by the name of Tessa Martinez. But police believe this was the same suspect. Martinez and the victim set up a deal where the victim would meet a man at H-E-B and then they would go take photos and measure her stomach.

The woman then went and picked up Danny Juarez, 45, and went to her place where he allegedly took photos of the victim while topless. The woman then drove the man back to H-E-B. A short while later, the victim received a message from Martinez. According to the affidavit, the message "requested money or she was going to release the photographs to the public." She told police that Juarez was a Hispanic man with a large black bushy beard.

The officer working the case noticed similarities to a former case where another woman had been scammed through a Facebook Swap and Sell ad that resulted in her being blackmailed with nude photos for money also. The victim in this case told police that she too remembered a big black bushy beard and then picked out Juarez in a photo lineup.

The officer then went to the apartment complex of the second victim and spoke to the manager. The manager told police that he had recently received a complaint that Juarez had asked a resident to "measure his penis."

Juarez was indicted on three counts of Sexual Coercion. His initial pre-trial is set on May 7.
