REPORT: Police Protecting Crime Scene as Family Arrives at Scene of Shooting

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — Police responded to a shooting on Walnut St. at approximately 4:30 p.m.

According to initial reports over the police radio, four shots were fired in the 2000 block of Walnut St. One person was hit “for sure,” as heard over the radio.

The San Angelo Police Department CID division and detectives have secured the scene.

The family arrived at approximately 5 p.m. and jumped the crime scene tape. “That’s his son! That’s his son!” a woman screamed as police gently attempted to push the family members back. 

An ambulance left the scene without lights and sirens.

Our reporter at the scene said he heard the suspect ran from the Walnut St. residence to another residence behind it in the 2000 block of Bailey.

We are awaiting news if police have caught the suspect and the status of any victim.

The crime scene is on Walnut and Bailey St. north of the Houston Harte between N. Howard St. and N. Harrison St.

The news media has been pushed back, far away from the homes that are locations in the investigation.

Police confirmed this shooting is a homicide and that one 28-year-old man is dead. The report continues with video here.

Besides the fact you can't drink the water, property taxes are thru the roof, and city leadership is non-existent, let's peruse the local police blotter...sexual coercion, teacher sex with someone underage, stabbings, drugs, drunks, thieves and now, murder. I wouldn't live in San Angelo if you gave it to me.

Nobody every said that Big Lake is not a great place to live.

Big Lake is no different..... bad stuff happens everywhere and now there are media outlets that report the news real-time.... these things have always happened, you just hear about them in detail now
