SAN ANGELO, TX — A 31-year-old Odessa man was sentenced to ten years in prison Thursday for sexual assault of a child.
Clayton Dewayne Williams was accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl in Tom Green County in Nov. 2018.
According to court documents, the victim’s mother called law enforcement authorities after she walked into her daughter’s bedroom and found the victim sitting on top of the defendant while the two were having sex.
In an interview with Tom Green County Sheriff’s Deputies, Williams admitted to having sex with the victim. According to court documents, Williams said, “I was f---ing a 15-year-old.”
Williams was originally charged with two counts of sexual assault of a child after admitting having sex with the victim on at least three occasions.
The affidavit says Williams, “…expressed remorse about being caught in the act…by the victim’s mother.”
Sexual assault of a child is a second degree felony punishable by 2 to 20 years in prison and an optional fine of up to $10,000.
William’s defense attorney Brian Raymond reached a plea bargain with prosecutors that sends Williams to prison for ten years. District Judge Jay Weatherby also ordered Williams to pay $50 to the Children’s Advocacy Center because of the nature of the crime.
Williams was given credit for the 119 days he has spent in the Tom Green County jail.
