SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo man could spend the next three decades in prison for continuously sexually assaulting a child under the age of 14.
Alexander Leon Boisse, 33, was arrested in April 2018 after a girl who was under the age of 14 reached out to authorities about being sexually assaulted by Boisse over a period of at least two years.
According to court documents, the victim was examined medically and also completed a forensic interview.
In court Wednesday, Boisse pleaded guilty to the sexual assaults as part of a plea bargain.
Boisse was on four years deferred adjudication probation for drug possession when he was arrested for sexual assault of a child. He pleaded true to a motion to revoke his probation at the plea hearing. Boisse also pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child which is punishable by 5 to 99 years or life in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
The plea deal accepted by District Judge Brad Goodwin sentences Boisse to 27 years in prison for the sexual assault charge and 400 days in prison for violating his probation. He was ordered to pay $1,500 which was part of the original deferred adjudication. The sentences will run concurrently and Boisse was given credit for time served. He has been in jail since his arrest in April 2018.
Prosecutors and District Judges work hard to ensure plea bargains are in the best interest of the victim.
According to state law, Boisse will have to serve half of his sentence before being eligible for parole. Once he completes his prison time, Boisse will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
