San Angelo Man Sentenced to 30 Years for Indecency with a Child

SAN ANGELO, TX – A San Angelo man has been sent to prison on Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to his second indecency with a child charge.

On Dec. 2, 2018 a woman and her daughter called the San Angelo Police Department after the daughter told her mother of something that had happened to her. The girl told her mother that Thomas Sanchez had exposed himself to her and tried to make the girl touch him.

Police say Sanchez had told them that he had been "grooming" the girl and that he was trying to "show her what child molesters do." He was then arrested and charged with indecency with a child by exposure.

On Feb. 14, 2018 Sanchez took a plea deal that gave him 30 years without probation in state prison. He has been jailed since Dec. 6 and was handed over to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice on March 6.

This was Sanchez's second Indecency with a child charge. He received 10 years deferred adjudication on the first charge.
