Wall Man Facing Multiple Drug and Theft Charges Takes Plea Deal

SAN ANGELO, TX — A 20-year-old man from Wall, TX accepted a plea bargain Wednesday dismissing several drug and theft related charges and sending him to prison.

Kendell Stasey was arrested the first time in June 2018.  He was indicted on two counts of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.  According to court documents, Stasey and codefendants Jay Stasey and Kerri Jordan allegedly were in possession of between four and 400 grams of THC and between four and 400 grams of 4-methylethcathinone, a synthetic stimulant similar to Ecstasy.

Stasey was also arrested again in Sept. 2018 along with codefendant Henry ‘Cali’ Perez and charged with third degree felony theft.  They are accused of stealing a 2017 Ford pickup along with a 1981 boat and trailer attached to it.

Stasey also was arrested and charged with felony theft in Sept. 2018 in connection with the theft of tools and an air compressor.

According to court documents, Stasey was indicted by a grand jury in Dec. 2018 one one count of possession of between four and 200 grams of methamphetamine.

The four cases were combined into one plea hearing Wednesday before visiting Senior District Judge Brock Jones.

Defense and prosecuting attorneys reached a plea bargain agreement that dismissed three of the four cases in exchange for a guilty plea.  Stasey entered a plea of guilty to the meth possession charge and in exchange the remaining cases were dismissed.

The plea bargain sends Stasey to prison for eight years and includes $360 in restitution.  Stasey was given credit for time served from Aug. 12, 2018 to Wednesday.  He was in custody and was returned to the Tom Green Co. jail to begin his sentence.

Mr. Stacey got a great deal for doing enough stealing and doping and repeat offences that would by law add up to about 50 years.
So we look forward to seeing him in about 4 to 6.
Maybe less.
