Combative Subject Arrested After Fighting Sheriff's Deputies

SAN ANGELO, TX – A San Angelo man has been arrested after punching, kicking, and biting multiple Sheriff's deputies on Tuesday.

On February 26, deputies with the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office arrived to the 1800 block of Field St. to issue a Magistrate's Order. The deputies informed Laramie Hightower, 32, of the reason for them being there.

According to court documents, deputies say that this is when Hightower got into a fighting stance, pushed the first deputy to the ground, and struck a female deputy in the face. The deputy who was pushed down got up and attempted to tase Hightower, but he missed because Hightower elbowed him in the face.

Both deputies then attempted to "gain compliance" from Hightower by using open hand techniques. At this time another deputy arrived at the scene, and the three of them were able to get handcuffs on Hightower. The struggle did not stop there though.

Hightower continued to struggle against the deputies by kicking all three of them leaving a large bruise on the female deputy. Hightower was put on the ground by deputies and during this he was able to bite one of them on the elbow. Deputies were then forced to use their taser against Hightower to get him to release the bite. He then started kicking again which forced the deputies to put a foot restraint on him.

He was checked out by medics and then taken to the Tom Green County Jail. He is currently still in there on two counts of Assault on a Peace Officer. His bond is set at $40,000.

Clinically diagnosed "Regression" is when a person reverts to an earlier phase of childhood development, not only for a lack of an ability to handle the challenges of adulthood, but as a defense mechanism. The person retreats, mentally, and returns to an earlier stage of life, of which they've known to be most comforting, and free of impressionable consequences.

"Responsibility" is a loose term, at best.

A lack of basic reasoning complements itself with the blatant overestimation of one's own value -- a capricious, unruly child in the body of an adult.

I don't know why, but this guy reminded me of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
