If the feds don’t charge him, he has an awesome chance at probation here. Abusing around here gets u 10 years of office visits and the county gets richer

I'm not sure what the actual numbers are locally, but I can tell you this, if you look up the registered sex offenders in Tom Green County, the majority of them are registered for life, even if their probation expires after ten years... Not exactly like we're letting them off the hook here... Their DNA gets put into a database to ensure they no longer have an anonymous genetic profile to spread and many of them break the rules and reg's for their "conditional" freedom, which leads to prison time pretty often, not sure how this seems like such a slap on the wrist.

What should we be doing to them? God forbid we change the law and just start "poppin' caps" in people before they are afforded the due process of law, as seems to be the common desire by those who are so quick to judge.

Our justice system does more to address sexual predators than they are given credit for...

No punishment for any sex crime can undo the effects caused by them.

Many of you bellyachers complain that our laws are too lenient, yet I don't see any of you contrasting or comparing your ideas about what we should do, with what laws we have in place... In fact, most people don't seem to know much about the laws period, you couldn't tell me 15 regulations that a lifetime registered sex offender has to abide by without Google, unless you're an I phone user.
What you will tell me, and everyone on Live, is that sex offenders have it easy. I believe sex crimes are putrid and deserve punishment, I also know that our system deals with it better than you seem to know... These people never get off the radar... the ones who do, have to live through ten years at a minimum.
I challenge you to defend the view that sex offenders get a 'slap on the wrist', the only stipulation being that you do it by showing "how" our system is flawed without parroting your granddad's views... formulate your very own original thoughts on the topic...
Backsliding, reformed con, out.
