SAN ANGELO, TX – A San Angelo man was indicted by a Tom Green County Grand Jury on Feb. 6 on one count of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance and one count of possession of a controlled substance after a traffic stop lead Tom Green County Deputies to finding cocaine, THC edible gummy bears, and marijuana.
On Dec. 5, 2018 Tom Green County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a surveillance operation where they gathered information of an alleged narcotics distributor. Marcus McVae, 34, left the location and was later pulled over for not signaling a turn in the required distance at the intersection of 13th St. and Martin Luther King Blvd.
The deputies were then given permission by McVae to search his vehicle. While searching the vehicle the officers found a digital scale, as well as 45 grams of gummy bears that tested positive for Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). McVae was then placed under arrest and the police continued to search him.
According to an affidavit, police then took the shoes off of McVae to find two bags inside. One bag was filled with 31 grams of what was determined later as marijuana. The other bag was a gray jeweler's bag which contained several smaller baggies filled with a white squared shaped substance. This was then tested and came back positive for nearly six grams of cocaine. The deputies also found a large amount of money inside the vehicle.
McVae was arrested and charged with one count of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance and one count of possession of a controlled substance.
