SPCA Offering $1,000 for Information on Suspect Who Stabbed Cat

ABILENE, TX – The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Abilene is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person who allegedly stabbed a cat with scissors.

On February 6, the residents found a cat in their backyard that had a pair of scissors sticking out of the back of him. The cat, Marty, was taken to a vet, and surgery was performed on the cat.

According to KTXS, the cat had two cuts in his spleen, but miraculously had no serious injuries.

“This is one of the very worst animal abuse attacks we have seen in the last 20 years," said Paul Washburn, President of Rescue The Animals a SPCA affiliate. "It is very urgent that our community identify and deal with whoever attacked this cat. The attacker is a definite threat to other animals and people as well.”

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Abilene Crime Stoppers at (325)-676-8477 or Rescue the Animals, SPCA at 325-695-7270.
