Suspect Charged with Murder for Allegedly Beating a 64-Year-Old to Death

ODESSA, TX – An Odessa man was arrested Monday after allegedly beating a 64-year-old man to death.

On February 15, the Odessa Police Department received a call about an older man who had been assaulted. Police say when they arrived they found Eilopoldo Estorga , 64, with serious bodily injury to his head and face.He was transported to the Medical Center Hospital where he pronounced dead.

According to police, witnesses told them that they saw an unknown man standing over Estorga beating him in the face.

After investigation by OPD they determined that the man was 37-year-old Eusebio Lerma. Lerma was located and interrogated by OPD where he admitted that he had fought and injured Estorga.

Lerma was charged with murder in the first degree.
