Police: New Girlfriend Blasts Nude Photo of Old Girlfriend All Over the Internet
SAN ANGELO, TX – A man's girlfriend was arrested on Valentine's day for distributing a full frontal nudity photograph of her boyfriend's ex-girlfriend.
On December 19 last year, the San Angelo Police Department received a call about a nude photo that was being distributed online depicting a woman while naked in the shower. Police investigated the tip and discovered that Vangie Munoz had sent out a picture of her boyfriend's ex-girlfriend.
Police talked to the victim who told them that she sent the photo to her boyfriend when they were dating. Now the boyfriend has a new lover, apparently. She said when the photo was created and sent the first time, it was only for her then-boyfriend's enjoyment and was meant to remain private between just the two.
The photo was soon discovered floating around on the Internet, according to an arrest affidavit.
The affidavit states Munoz sent the photo to herself as she snooped on boyfriend Torres's phone while he slept. Munoz admitted to subsequently sending the photo out to five different people.
Munoz told Police that she did it out of anger. The victim expressed to police that the distribution of the nude photo caused her emotional distress due to the fact that it showed not only her genitals, but her chest and face as well. It exposed her identity, she said.
The affidavit states the photo was sent "electronically" with a smart phone. It did not specify the messaging platforms used. The victim discovered the photo was being distributed when a friend messaged her the photo. The affidavit does not reveal how far and wide the photo was distributed from the initial five recipients.
Munoz was charged with publishing intimate visual material. She was booked into the Tom Green County Jail but was soon released on a $7,500 bond.
