San Angelo Early Childhood Center Scare Resolved Quickly

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The San Angelo Early Childhood Center at 619 Julian street is safe and sound.

According to an email from Center Executive Director Cynthia Lackey Friday morning, reports of a shooter are untrue.

A parent entered the Center around 9:00 am wanting to pick up their child.

Due to the terms of the custody arrangement, Center staff would not allow this person to take the child.

Center staff followed protocol and hit our panic button.  The San Angelo Police Department arrived quickly and diffused the situation.

All of the children and staff are safe and sound and the situation is under control.

We are thankful to the San Angelo Police Department for their quick response and ability to calm a tense situation.
