Suspect Killed in Officer Involved Shooting

 

MIDLAND, TX -- A man was shot and killed in an officer involved shooting Wednesday in Midland County. 

A State Parole Officer went to check on a registered sex offender,at around 8:45 p.m. When the officer arrived to the house, they were met by a female in her 50s, who pointed a pistol at them. The officer asked the lady if the parolee had lived there. She denied him living there. 

The Midland County Sheriff's were called in to search the house around 10:00 p.m. They knocked on the door, declared that they were Midland County Sheriff and took positions away from the front door. Anthony Pellissier, 52, answered the door and pointed a weapon at the Deputies. He was ordered to drop his weapon, but he gave them no response. The deputy then shot Pellissier one time in the chest, dropping him to the floor. 

According to a press release by MCSO, Pellissier was pronounced dead at the scene, and the body has been sent for an autopsy. 

The Texas Rangers have been called in to conduct the investigation.
