Brady Police Confirm Arrest in Gun Theft Case

BRADY, TX -- Brady police confirmed Tuesday that an arrest has been made following the theft of several firearms from Texas Wildlife Supply last week.

According to the Brady PD Facebook page, John Cole Johnson, a 25-year-old resident of Abilene, has been arrested in connection with the Texas Wildlife Supply burglary, first reported to the Brady Police Department on January 24, 2019.

Tips from citizens and the great work done by the Abilene Police Department, the Texas Rangers and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives allowed for Johnson to be located at a motel complex in Abilene and then taken into custody without incident.

Johnson was also found to have an outstanding warrant for a parole violation (previously issued through Nolan County) and was in possession of a stolen vehicle at the time of this arrest. A search warrant was then obtained in which officers did locate property that had been reported as stolen by the owner of the business.

Further information is currently being withheld due to its sensitivity and the need for additional investigation into the offense.
