Fugitive Wanted After Christmas Eve Shooting

 

SWEETWATER, TX-- Police are searching for one man after a shooting on Christmas Eve in Sweetwater.

Police were called out to a report of multiple shots fired Monday night. When they arrived witnesses told them that they had heard shots fired and that two men were running away from the scene. 

Police chased the two suspects but only caught one. Ja'veeontae Markel Ikee Evans, 18, eventually surrendered and was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The other suspect fled into a wooded area nearby, and police are still trying to identify him.

This attack caused no injuries, but a car and two houses were hit.
