Convicted Killer Sentenced to 50 Years in Prison

ABILENE, TX -- A Taylor County jury sentenced a convicted murderer to prison for 50 years in the execution style murder of Ryan 'Chucky' Roberts.  

Manuel Guadalupe Garcia was convicted of murder earlier Wednesday by the same jury.  

Garcia was convicted of shooting Roberts execution style in a house on Merchant St. in Abilene. 

Garcia was also accused of shooting another man during the same incident in April 2016. 

Dewayne Welch was shot four times and still has two bullets lodged in his back. 

KTXS is reporting Garcia was serving time in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.  

Garcia will serve the remainder of his 11 year federal sentence before beginning his 50 year prison sentence in the Texas  Department of Criminal Justice.
