San Angelo Police Arrest Armed Suspect in Stolen Vehicle

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — A San Angelo Police Officer found a stolen vehicle being driven by a suspect with outstanding warrants and a gun Monday morning.

According to the SAPD Public Information Office, Monday morning a San Angelo Police Officer who was conducting patrol near the 1800 block of Brown Street noticed an occupied vehicle with two different plates.

Upon approaching the vehicle the officer was alerted to the presence of a firearm on the passenger seat.

The driver, identified as 24-year-old Johnny Villarreal, was arrested for fifteen (15) outstanding warrants. A 24-year-old male passenger was detained but later released.

During the field investigation, officers discovered the suspicious vehicle actually belonged to the Lithia All American Chrysler Jeep and Dodge Dealership and their staff was unaware the vehicle was missing.

Officers also discovered Villarreal was in possession of several credit cards that belonged to other people.

Villarreal was charged with Theft of Property >=$2,500-<$30K and Fraudulent Use/Possession Identifying Information # Items <5.

Additional charges are forthcoming pending the outcome of this ongoing investigation.
