ABILENE, TX -- A jury in Abilene deliberated for about ten hours Monday night into Tuesday morning before sentencing Dillon Compton to death by lethal injection.
Compton, 23, was charged with capital murder in the strangulation death of Corrections Officer Marianne Johnson in the French Robertson State Prison in Abilene in July 2016.
Testimony in the guilt/innocence indicated the 55-year-old woman had been sexually assaulted.
KTXS is reporting the jury convicted Compton of capital murder on Oct. 15. Capital murder is punishable by life in prison without parole or death by lethal injection.
Compton was in prison serving a 25 year sentence for raping a 10-year-old girl.

This pos should have already had life anyway.
I guess he has been protected pretty good or he would have been dealt some good ol prison justice for the rape of a child.
Most all cons don't approve of it.

PermalinkHis victims didn't get a chance to plead their case or ask for leniency. They didn't get a last meal of their choice, and this rat bastard certainly didn't make sure he was sterilized and clean before he "injected" them.
We don't condone being a murderous rapist, but we'll definitely make sure your career as one is as comfortable as possible, all the way to the end.

PermalinkIs he will now receive room and board, free medical care, protection from general population, multiple appeals, that will span a time of 10 to 20 years before the execution takes place, if it does at all. Of course this will cost us taxpayers millions, when he should be taken out back and euthanized with a 50 cent bullet.

PermalinkMaybe we need to figure out how to get that into legislation, I would vote to save us the money while sending a clear message to other criminals as well, until then, however, it serves me no purpose to sweat the details... At least the character was caught, there's got to be a few murderer's and rapist's running around the general public right now, probably got a refill next to you at Stripes this morning. I'll pay, all day, to see criminals held accountable, it's the one's who aren't that bother me.

PermalinkThe ones who aren't caught, or haven't yet been caught, run the risk of losing life and limb. The average man's 1st reaction, to learning that his sister or mother was raped and/or murdered, is usually the correct one.
If someone attacks and rapes a loved one, unless we walk in on the crime, we are prohibited from seeking out and disposing of the attacker. Our Nation's enemies, however, are to be seen as ours, no matter if we completely comprehend the politics behind the conflict. We may not have ever visited the land in question, or know the first thing about it's people, but you may be commended and rewarded for adopting second hand hostility, and murdering people, if not under the incredulous "National security" charade, then under the cloak of "bringing people "freedom"".
Your personal plight is meaningless, dispose of an enemy and you're a "murderer". Join in the systematic mass murder of people, half a world removed from your daily routine and grievances, and you're a "hero".
A truly "free" person is not assigned enemies. One who kills on command, on behalf of another, is either a slave or a hitman.
Murder is illegal, unless sanctioned by our government, and you have to question that logic.
