Woman Who Shot and Killed Her Roommate Identified

ABILENE, TX — Police investigated a shooting at the Little Elm Condos located off S 7th Street and Ruidoso Drive this morning.

Police say a woman reportedly walked into a law enforcement center around 10 a.m. and informed the front desk that she had just killed her roommate.

KTAB reported that shortly after, police went to the complex and found a 44-year-old female with a fatal gunshot wound in the apartment. 

No names have been released as to the victim or suspect. The investigation is still ongoing and the charges for the suspect are not known at this time. 

Update 8:05 p.m.

According to the Abilene Police Department, Lonisha Nicole McBride, 31, the woman police said walked into the police station this morning and confessed, has been charged with murder. KTXS reports that McBride is being held in the Taylor County Jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond. KTXS identified the victim as Shaniqua Shenell Wallace, 43. Police have not released information about what they believe the motive for the alleged murder was.
