Inmate Who Walked Away From Road Crew Captured

UPDATE Wednesday 10/17.18 9:00 a.m. The Brown County inmate who walked away from a work crew has been captured.

According to Brown County Sheriff Vance Hill, William Robert Smith was apprehended at Brownwood Regional Medical Center late Tuesday.

BROWNWOOD, TX -- Tuesday morning at around 11:25 a.m., the Brown County Sheriff’s Office was notified that a road crew inmate, identified as William Robert Smith Jr., had walked off from the Brown County Pct 1 barn located on Highway 377 S.

William Robert Smith was being held on misdemeanor charges.

William Robert Smith is a white male approximately 180 lbs, 5’08” tall, with brown hair and brown eyes.
