Police Identify Man Arrested in H-E-B Parking Lot with an Illegal Weapon

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- San Angelo Police arrested a man Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot of the H-E-B at 3301 Sherwood Way for possessing an illegal weapon. 

According to the Tom Green County Sheriff's website, 31-year-old Armando Cruz was arrested Wednesday and booked into the Tom Green County jail at 4:23 p.m.

Cruz is charged with one count of theft of property between $750 and $2,500 and one count of possession of a prohibited weapon. 

As we reported Wednesday, according to SAPD Street Crimes Division officer Craig Thomason, one person in a black SUV was detained for illegal possession of a prohibited weapon.  

The illegal weapon was a firearm and was retrieved by police. The Department of Homeland Security is also involved in the investigation.

According to court documents, Cruz's bond was set at $750.00.
