Police: Abilene Orthodontist Used Patient's Names to Write Scripts for Xanax, Other Drugs

ABILENE, TX-- An Abilene orthodontist allegedly used patient's names to fill prescriptions for numerous drugs, KTXS reports.

On Monday, Victor Lynn Lee, 38, was arrested and booked on a charge of possession of a controlled substance by fraud.

Court documents allege Lee called in two prescriptions for Xanax and Klonopin for two patients at a CVS on June 22.

Police received a call from the pharmacist who found the scripts odd “due to the patient’s age and being prescribed ... 90 pills and three refills.”

Lee also gave three different, incorrect DEA numbers, according to the report.

Police say Lee tried to pick up the prescriptions later in the day. The pharmacist told Lee the prescriptions would not be filled and the patient's primary care physicians would need to call them in.

Police talked to Lee's ex-girlfriend during the investigation. She said Lee wrote her a script for flu medicine on March 3.

She also said he called in two other prescriptions for Alprazolam and Clonazepam. According to police, she said she just took the flu medication. Lee allegedly picked up the other prescriptions and took the pills.

Police say CVS' logs back up her story.

Lee was released on a $15,000 bond.

He was also arrested earlier in the month for allegedly sending nude photos of his ex and photos depicting Lee and his ex-girlfriend having sex to her ex-husband.
