Odessa Motorcycle Gang Suspected in Convenience Store Stabbing

ODESSA, TX — (Press Release) On Aug. 25 at approximately 2:33 a.m., Odessa Police responded to the Stripes store at 1300 East 8th Street in reference to two stabbing victims. The 32-year-old complainant reported that his cell phone had been stolen earlier while he was at a local bar.

The complainant advised that when he called his cell phone, a female answered and advised him to meet her at the Stripes store located at 8th and Dixie. When the complainant arrived at the Stripes parking lot, he was met by an unknown Hispanic male and female. The complainant advised that there was also another subject on scene, later identified as a 26-year-old male.

Investigation revealed that after a disturbance occurred, the unknown Hispanic male pulled out a knife and stabbed the 26-year-old male in the chest, causing serious bodily injury. The complainant also sustained serious bodily injury on his hand as a result of being cut during the incident.

The unknown Hispanic male and female left the scene with several other subjects on motorcycles. The complainant was transported to MCH with non-life threatening injuries and the 26-year-old male was transported to ORMC with life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 40 years of age, with a scruffy beard, wearing a leather vest with “La Familia” on the back of it. The vest also had the word “prospect” on it. At this time no arrests have been made and the investigation continues.
