Two Weekend Murders in Abilene Not Connected

ABILENE, TX -- Authorities in Abilene say the two murders over the weekend are not related.

Roy Lee Jackson,66, shot and killed Delbert Pimpton early Saturday morning.  Jackson and Pimpton were friends and neighbors. According to the police report, the two men had been drinking.

Jackson told authorities he didn’t remember the shooting.

Jackson is charged with murder and remains in the Taylor County Jail in lieu of $125,000 bond.

Also Saturday morning in Abilene a 23-year-old man was shot and killed when he answered the door at an apartment complex.

Abilene Police Chief Stan Standridge told KTXS that Chance Bonni, an African refugee, answered the door and was shot in the chest with a shotgun.

Authorities are looking for two suspects in that shooting.
