SAN ANGELO, TX — (Press Release) An Odessa man is dead and another in critical condition following a shooting that occurred late Wednesday evening in South Odessa.
On August 15, 2018 at approximately 2206 hours, Odessa Police responded to the 900 block of Magnolia in reference to a gunshot victim.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with two gunshot victims, identified as John Paul Jimenez, 42 years of age and Jimmy White, 36 years of age.
Jimenez was transported to Medical Center Hospital and later pronounced deceased by medical personnel. Next of kin were notified. White was also transported to Medical Center Hospital with serious bodily injury.
Investigation revealed that after a disturbance occurred, Jose Alexander Carrera, 20, fired multiple rounds at Jimenez and White. Carrera then fled the scene in a gray Cougar or Pontiac G6 and was last seen heading southbound on Dixie before police arrived.
At this time no arrests have been made. Anyone with information in reference to the whereabouts of Carrera is encouraged to contact Odessa Police or Odessa Crime Stoppers at 432-333-TIPS.
The investigation continues.
