BRADY, TX -- The Brady Police Department and McCulloch County Sheriff’s Office executed a narcotics search warrant in the 1200 Block of Dos Street Thursday. According to the Brady PD, upon making entry officers located 23-year-old Anthony Ray Brown in the front living area of the home and restrained him.
A preliminary search was conducted, showing that Brown was the only person inside the residence at the time of the raid. Then, a secondary search for contraband was conducted both inside and outside the home, yielding the following results:
(1) 4.25 ounces of hydroponic marijuana, separated into three clear plastic baggies one of which had already been packaged for sale.
(2) Numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia, to include bongs, rolling papers and digital scales.
(3) $595.00 in cash was also discovered and seized with the belief the money was proceeds from the sale of narcotics in Brady and McCulloch County.
Brown was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana over 4 ounces which is a state jail felony but the charge will be enhanced to a 3rd degree felony because his residence was less than 1,000 feet from a Drug Free Zone; both a church and park designed for usage by children within that prescribed distance from Brown’s home.
Brown was transported to the McCulloch County Sheriff’s Office where he was booked and jailed pending arraignment by a magistrate. This arrest was in conjunction with an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Brady Police Department.
