Midland County Sheriff Investigating the Deaths of 16 Dogs Found Thursday

MIDLAND, TX --  The Midland County Sheriff's Office is investigating the deaths of 16 dogs found in two separate locations over the last two days.

According to reports, the MCSO received a call Thursday morning in reference to 13 dogs that were found dead and had been dumped on a property in the 3000 block of South County Road 1218.

The residents who found the dogs told Sheriff Gary Painter they thought the dogs were poisoned because there was not visible gunshot wounds or blood.

Later Thursday, three more dogs were found on a property in the 4000 block of West County Road 114.

Sheriff Painter is waiting on necropsy results and investigations into the stomach contents of the dogs.

The Sheriff expects to have results back next week.
