ABILENE, TX — The Abilene Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred at a nightclub in south Abilene over the weekend.

According to KTXS, police say a man was shot in the leg outside of the Club Fuego nightclub around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

The nightclub on South 7th Street was hosting a show by rapper Z-Ro.

The victim was taken to the hospital by personal vehicle and police said that he would be okay.

Club Fuego released a statement addressing the incident in a Facebook post, "We would like to apologize to the victim of this incident and his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and we wish you a speedy recovery. We will increase parking lot security during our future events to prevent any further incidents of this nature. Thank you to all the patrons that were present during the z-ro concert and the positive atmosphere you provided before the incident. Unfortunately one person's negative actions after the show can dictate your entire experience. For this again we apologize."
