Man Charged with Murder after Fatal Shooting in Abilene

 

ABILENE, TX — (Abilene PD Press Release) On June 25, at approximately 10:34 p.m., the Abilene Police Department received a call of a shooting in the 2400 block of Hardy St.

Upon police arrival officers found Arthur Cantu Jr., 37,  laying on the porch unresponsive with a fatal gunshot wound.
Officer quickly developed a suspect and began searching the immediate area. At approximately 12:04 a.m., George Almanza, 47, was located at Hendrick Medical Center and taken into custody for questioning. Early investigation indicates that this was a result of known subjects involved in a dispute.

George Almanza was arrested and charge with murder. He has been transported to the Taylor County Jail awaiting to see a judge to have his bond set.
