Two Arrested for House Burglary; Stolen Items Returned

 

ABILENE, TX — (Abilene PD Press Release) Jesus Perry, 44, of Merkel and Joe Castillo, 41, of Tye, were arrested and charged by police for breaking into a home in south Abilene where they had stolen a variety of items including two handguns and the homeowner’s deceased wife’s jewelry, among other items.

The homeowner of a house located on the 900 block of Palm Street reported someone broke into his home sometime on June 11, by breaking out a window in the back of the home and gaining entry.

The Abilene Police Department’s Street Crime’s Unit, with the assistance of the Tye Police Department, contacted the two suspects at a hotel in the 5600 block of South 1st Street after getting information of the possible suspects involved in this crime.

Several items in the home burglary were seized. This led to another property being searched, in Tye where more items were seized.

Perry and Castillo were both taken into custody. Perry is charged with Burglary of Habitation. Castillo is charged with Second Degree Felony Burglary of Habitation.
