Don't Tase Me Bro! Belligerent Shoplifter Becomes Super Cooperative after Getting Tased

SAN ANGELO, TX -- San Angelo Police Officers responded to a shoplifting call at the new H-E-B Grocery store on Sherwood Way Thursday evening to find a man and a woman trying to make off with pork chops and eggs.

According to SAPD officer Priscilla Massey at the scene, employees of the store attempted to escort the couple back into the store and they refused.  Employees called the police and when officer Massey arrived, she saw a man and a woman and H-E-B employees outside the store.

Officer Massey said the male subject became belligerent and argumentative and refused to follow her commands to stop.  Massey says "We had to go hands on and tase him."  She said, "He was nice and apologetic after that."  The female was cooperative the whole time.

According to officer Massey, neither of the suspects sustained any injuries and the altercation was over $8.93.

Both suspects were issued citations and released.

Massey says the store employees reported an increase in shoplifting recently.
