Georgia Gang Member Wanted for Double Murder Arrested in Brownwood

BROWNWOOD, TX -- A State District Judge in Brownwood will determine whether to extradite an 18-year-old gang member back to Georgia to stand trial for a double murder along with ten other gang members arrested for the crime.

The Clayton County Georgia Police Department issued a press release last week that names 18-year-old Deundre Demond Mitchell as a suspect in a double murder in the suburb of Atlanta, GA.

KTXS is reporting Police said Tatiyana Coates,11, and Daveon Coates, 15, were gunned down by the gang members as they slept during a home invasion.  Strangely, Mitchell was the intended target according to law enforcement officials. He reportedly stole firearms from a fellow gang member and then fled to Chattanooga, Tennessee.  How he got to Brownwood is unknown at this time.

Mitchell was found hiding out in Brownwood.

Reports from Georgia indicate a classroom teacher was one of the ten gang members arrested for the double murder.

Mitchell will appear before a state District Judge in Brownwood on Tuesday.  He is expected to be extradited back to Georgia.
