ABILENE, TX — An Abilene man with a history of working with young children was arrested on a child sex crime and child porn charges.
Benjamin Russell Roberts, 24, has been charged with Indecency with a Child and Possession of Child Pornography. His bond is set for $150,000 on each charge, according to KTXS.
Police served a warrant at Roberts’ home in the northern area of Abilene. According to the arrest report, Roberts “admitted to and was found in possession of child pornography.”
Abilene Police Department said they had an unknown person downloading child pornography from July 19 through Sept. 26, 2017. Officers seized many different devices and found items of child porn, and a “pair of underwear belonging to a child.”
Roberts admitted to inappropriately “touching one child under the age of 12 in 2017”
According to Abilene Police, Roberts was worked in several different places where he was in contact with children. Entities include: Wylie Baptist Church, Southern Hills Church of Christ, Beltway Park Church, and a Community Outreach Home.
Abilene police believe “there is a likelihood more victims are in our community.”
