Affidavit: Camille Garcia Shot in the Head

SAN ANGELO, TX — In a gruesome arrest affidavit charging Andres Rios Ramirez, 30, for the murder of 24-year-old Camille Garcia, Sheriff’s investigators reveal she was shot in the head in south San Angelo before her body was disposed in a trash dumpster north of San Angelo.

Andres Ramirez was in a relationship with Garcia, Sheriff’s investigators noted. After he was identified as a person of interest in Garcia’s death, investigators learned that Ramirez didn’t have a valid drivers’ license. Based upon that knowledge, during surveillance of Ramirez following the discovery of Garcia’s body, a deputy performed a traffic stop on Ramirez who was driving a 2003 Pontiac Vibe. Sheriff’s deputies pulled him over at the Stripes located at the intersection of Knickerbocker Road and Austin St. There, Ramirez was arrested for driving with no license, and taken to the Sheriff’s office for questioning about Garcia’s murder.

Riding shotgun with Ramirez that day was Ruben Anthony Ramirez. He was arrested also and charged with possession of a “dangerous drug” and drug paraphernalia.

While in detention at the Stripes with the deputies, Andres Ramirez admitted a handgun could be located in the back seat area of the Pontiac Vibe. Investigators searched and found a Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol. Deputies said it was loaded with ball ammunition.

During interrogation, Andres Ramirez waived his Miranda rights and agreed to talk to investigators.

He told investigators that he shot Garcia in the head using the same handgun found in the backseat of his car. He said he shot her at the residence at 629 Antonio St. in south San Angelo.

The affidavit did not describe how Garcia’s body ended up in a dumpster just outside the San Angelo city limits on the north side of town.
