Teenager Wanted for Robbery Located During Traffic Stop Armed with Handgun

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- (SAPD Press Release) On Thursday, March 22, 2018, Detectives with the San Angelo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division received a District Court issued Directive to Apprehend for a local teen in reference to a recent aggravated robbery and assault involving a handgun.   

According to SAPD Public Information Officer Tracy Gonzalez, in a coordinated effort with the Department’s Anti-Crime Unit, Patrol Division, and K9 Unit, officers conducted surveillance of the suspect’s known whereabouts.  Pursuant to the surveillance, the suspect, a 16-year-old male, was located and apprehended during a traffic stop just after 12:00 a.m. this morning.

The suspect was in possession of marijuana as well as a handgun and loaded magazines.  He was additionally charged with Unlawful Carrying Weapon and misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana.
