Sheriff: Woman Found in Dumpster Was Shot and Killed

SAN ANGELO, TX — Tom Green County Sheriff David Jones said that 24-year-old Camille Garcia died of a gunshot wound. The Sheriff didn’t state where the wound was on her body.

Her body was discovered Tuesday inside a dumpster in the 1000 block of Cactus Ln. just north of the city limits of San Angelo. Justice of the Peace J.P McGuire ordered an autopsy in Lubbock. The report returned was that Garcia died of a single gunshot wound.

According to the Sheriff, Wednesday afternoon, Andres Rios Ramirez became a subject of interest in the investigation of Garcia’s death.

Wednesday afternoon, Tom Green County Sheriff’s Deputy Grayson Heirs observed Ramirez operating a vehicle in the south side of San Angelo. He conducted a traffic stop on Ramirez with the knowledge that Ramirez did not have a valid driver license. During the traffic stop, Deputy Heirs discovered a loaded pistol in the vehicle.

Ramirez was taken to the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office where he was questioned by the lead Tom Green County Investigators Andrew Alwine and Corey Speck.

Investigators obtained a confession from Ramirez.

Wednesday night, a search warrant was executed at a location where investigators believe the murder happened in south San Angelo. The Sheriff stated that evidence was collected at a residence in the 600 block of Antonio St. confirming Garcia was murdered there.
