Caretaker Accused of Stealing $6,000 from Elderly Patient

 

ABILENE, TX — An Abilene woman was taken into custody on Tuesday morning for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars from an elderly patient.

According to the arrest report, law enforcement issued a search warrant and executed the search at a home in the 300 block of Glenhaven Drive.

Police discovered Kara Brooke Beaver, 30, had stolen more than $6,000 on Feb. 23 from an 84-year-old that hired her as a caretaker.

Beaver has been charged with Exploitation of the Elderly, a third-degree felony. Her bond has been set at $10,000.

According to KTXS 12, there are no other details available for this case. Beaver had two prior arrests but they were both misdemeanors.
