Indictment Handed Down for Abilene Man Who Asked for Explicit Photos from 16-Year-Old Boy

ABILENE, TX-- A Taylor County grand jury handed down an indictment to an Abilene man who was attempting to have sex with and receive lewd pictures from a 16-year-old male according to a report from KTXS.

Andrew Rodriguez Jr., 23, is charged with online solicitation of a minor.

An Abilene Police Department detective came across a Craigslist post by Rodriguez where he asked to have sex with an underaged boy. The detective responded to the post as a 16-year-old boy interested in Rodriguez' offer.

After the response, Rodriguez told the supposed 16-year-old he wanted to arrange a meeting where the two would have sex. In addition to the meeting, Rodriguez asked for lewd photos from the "boy", which the detective distributed to Rodriguez. The suspect also sent photos in return.

Rodriguez then told the "boy" he was on his way to meet him at the location they agreed on, which was an apartment complex. Once Rodriguez arrived at the apartment complex, police apprehended him for online solicitation of a minor.

Rodriguez was booked in the Taylor County Jail on bonds that totaled $75,000.
