Big Spring Man Shot to Death by His Girlfriend’s Son

 

BIG SPRING, TX -- A Big Spring, TX man was shot to death by his girlfriend’s son Friday according to the Big Spring Police Department.  

Police identified the deceased man as 47-year-old Jaime Barboza.  He was found dead in the bedroom of his apartment.  According to police Barboza got into an argument with his girlfriend, 37-year-old Brenda Valdivia and her son, 20-year-old Raul Romo.  

Police say Romo grabbed a gun and shot Barboza in the head.  Romo was arrested Tuesday and charged with first degree murder.  Valdivia was arrested and charged with third degree felony tampering with physical evidence.  

The Big Spring Police Department, the Howard County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division and the Department of Public Safety Texas Rangers Division assisted with the investigation.
